Scouts Inc. has more story lines to watch in the Packers-Bears showdown:
Counting on Kampman
One big reason for the decline of the Packers' defense is the underachieving defensive line. Last year this unit went eight deep and gave offenses fits. DE Cullen Jenkins, who was solid and in the nickel moved inside to DT, was placed on injured reserve. They traded big DT Corey Williams in the offseason and thought they had his replacement in second-year player Justin Harrell, but Harrell has yet to make an impact. On the edges we thought the pass-rush combo of Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila and Aaron Kampman would be extremely productive, but Gbaja-Biamila was so bad that they cut him, leaving Kampman as the only guy they can really count on. The struggles of the guys up front puts pressure on the rest of the back seven.
