Film Notes: Charting Vick's maturation

After breaking down film, Scouts Inc. gives its take on what to watch in the NFL this weekend:

The maturation of Michael Vick
His development from a great athlete to a bona fide NFL quarterback is remarkable. He can still tuck the ball and run better than any other QB who has ever played the game, but it is what he does before the scramble that draws attention. Against the Redskins on "Monday Night Football" on a big touchdown run, Vick had five passing options on a first-and-goal play. All five targets were well covered, but before tucking the ball and running, Vick surveyed the entire field, left to right -- something he never would have done in the past. He is excellent at using the bootleg and play-fake to freeze defenses and has really improved his ability to get the one-on-one matchups he wants.
