Is Morris a better option than Alexander?

After a very strong start, Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander's performance has steadily declined. In the first four games of the season, Alexander gained 353 rushing yards, a pace that would have totaled more than 1,400 yards if prorated over 16 games. Since that time, Alexander has only 204 yards in the five games in which he's played.

The general consensus is that Alexander's hand and ankle injuries are largely to blame for his decreased production; they are causing him not to hit the holes as hard as he did early on. Alexander's critics will also point out that Maurice Morris is averaging 4.8 yards per carry during the same time frame that Alexander's totals have plummeted.
