An important divisional game is looming for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. The Eagles need a win to boost their fading playoff hopes, while the Giants want to stay in first place in the NFC East.
Philadelphia travels to play the Giants on Sunday, followed by the Packers, Seahawks and then the Giants again. This stretch is critical for the Eagles. At 4-5 and playing in the tough NFC East, they have to get their act together. They are coming off a shocking loss to the Dallas Cowboys on "Monday Night Football" in which they found a way to drop a game that they dominated throughout. It was a stunning loss for the Eagles, as they were able finally to produce a consistent running game with Brian Westbrook (16-86, 1 TD) and Lamar Gordon (13-57).
That's been the problem plaguing the Eagles all season -- they've been unable to provide any offensive balance. Sadly for them, they threw the game away by allowing the Cowboys to get a big passing play, and then quarterback Donovan McNabb threw the game-deciding interception that Cowboys safety Roy Williams took to the house.
