Scouts Buzz: Giants play it safe

Scouts Inc. shares some observations from the New York Giants' 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI:

Giants too conservative? Eli Manning spread the ball around early and had nine straight completions to start the game. The Patriots' tackling was suspect early, and Ahmad Bradshaw was productive -- even on interior runs. But I found it very surprising how conservative New York was on offense in the first half. The Giants' heavier personnel and run game were effective, but Manning & Co. weren't generating a lot of points. And why wouldn't you go to your biggest strength (their wideouts/Manning) against the Patriots' biggest weakness (the secondary)?
