If a lot of the experts are right, Super Bowl XL will come down to two quarterbacks who have never been on this giant stage before. Both are coming off outstanding 2005 seasons, though. Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger are in total command of their offenses, and both are ready to take the next step -- elite status.
Hasselbeck finished the regular season as the NFC's highest-rated quarterback (98.2). He has mastered the West Coast offense and now knows not only his responsibilities but also those of all of his skill-position players. He is tremendous under pressure, and you get the sense watching him on film that he never panics and is always under control.
