Place-kicking is a key component of special teams, and when you need to make a clutch field goal with time winding down, no one is more important than the place kicker. Then why are the Colts' special teams -- who have Mr. Clutch, Adam Vinatieri -- ranked last?
The Titans have one of the best place-kickers in the league in Rob Bironas, who has excellent range and accuracy. P Craig Hentrich has been solid all year with his hang time and distance. Return specialist Chris Carr has shown explosive speed and can hit creases on both punt and kick returns, while Tennessee's coverage units have been solid and rarely give their opponents a short field.
Second-year P Sav Rocca has a live leg and is adept at pinning his opponents inside the 20-yard line. PK David Akers is hitting 82.5 percent of his attempts. The Eagles' coverage units have been solid at maintaining field position. Rookie returners DeSean Jackson and Quintin Demps have the excellent vision and athleticism to hit a crease and make a big return.
