Bears coach Matt Nagy called on kickers Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro to each attempt a 40-yard field goal Thursday. If either missed, the entire roster would have to endure a team conditioning test. Both nailed their kicks.

Matt Nagy reiterates that he "feels good" about TE Trey Burton being ready for the beginning of training camp late next month. Nagy, of course, cannot guarantee 100% that will happen. Burton underwent sports hernia surgery several weeks ago.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy tells us the kickers (Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro) each made a 40-yard field goal to end minicamp, thus preventing the team from running gassers, which Nagy said the team would have done had the kicks been missed.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy was understandably upset after all three Bears kickers missed their kicks during Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice. "They were 0-for-3 out there," Nagy said. "For today, we can't have that. We are going to figure this thing out but 0-for-3 today, no good."

Bears second-year linebacker Roquan Smith reports that the transition to new defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano has been a smooth one. "It's been great," Smith said. "The terminology is a little different but you expect that when you switch coordinators. But it's great. I think he's a great guy. I'm enjoying getting to know him even more so I think it's pretty sweet.

Bears All-Pro Khalil Mack kicks off Chicago's three-day mandatory minicamp. Mack spent the weekend getting pointers from Bears Hall of Fame pass-rusher Richard Dent, an experience Mack said resonated with him.
