On the Tracy Walker unnecessary roughness call, Matt Patricia said "a lot of the onus is put on the defensive player to make sure that they see the contact coming, see the body angles and the leverage and we got to do a good job. First and foremost the game is going to be about safety, both players that are in defenseless positions and also the players that are coming through and giving the hits."

Matt Patricia said he hadn't seen Troy Vincent's comments yet, but he did say this about last night: "For me, obviously there were some calls in the game that everyone is focused on right now. I'm focused on the ones that we got to do right out on the field through execution and coaching and playing. I think if you go through a game and are relying on the officials to tell you whether or not you won, I don't really think you're going to turn out in a favorable manner more times than not."

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, when asked how he thinks pass interference has been called this year, said that essentially it's not called. Said they aren't coaching their receivers any differently because of it.

Lions safety Tavon Wilson was moving fine after the game. Said he got hit with a helmet and that he was lucky — and that he's fine. It'll be worth monitoring on a short week but that's good news for Detroit.

The Lions — man they were close. But with how this Detroit team has looked this season, close can no longer be considered enough. This team has shown they can play with some of the NFL's best but until they can win a game like this (questionable calls or not) they can't be considered as a truly contending team.

Detroit may lead Green Bay, 13-10, at halftime but the Lions sure looked sloppy doing it after a strong, aggressive offensive start. Special teams blunders (kicking a kickoff out of bounds and then having 12 men on the field during a Packers' FG attempt, resulting in a Green Bay first down and then touchdown) were a major theme. Plus, Detroit continues to be run on easily -- the Packers already have 101 yards rushing, the fifth game this season Detroit has allowed 100 yards rushing this year.

Matt Patricia and Darrell Bevell are being aggressive to start tonight. Flea flicker to open the game. Another deep pass to open the second drive off play action. Then going for it on 4th-and-1 at the goal-line to secure a touchdown. At least early on, the Lions seem to be feeding off of it as well.
