Colts coach Frank Reich said quarterback Andrew Luck will not take part in the team's OTA's this week and then they'll re-evaluate his strained calf. "Our whole mode is going to be during this session just to be real conservative with guys who has any issues whatsoever," Reich said. "I told (the training staff) lets be conservative. Main thing is to get to (training) camp at full strength. Really any player with any issue we're going to be cautious."

Former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney will be inducted into the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 10 when the team hosts the Miami Dolphins, team officials said Tuesday. Colts tight end Eric Ebron has his eyes on passing retired tight end Rob Gronkowski's tight-end record of 17 touchdown receptions set in 2011. Ebron, who is headed into his contract year with the Colts, had 13 receiving touchdowns - and one rushing - last season. "I believe Gronk still holds the record for most touchdowns, which is 17. So, if I want to do anything that is gonna be real spectacular or really good, I gotta go get 17," Ebron said Tuesday. "And if I go and get 17, I help my team win games. I did that, proved that and I feel like if I'm at my best, then I feel like this team will be at their best."

Colts receiver Parris Campbell's speed was clearly evident on the first day of rookie minicamp. What also was evident from the second-round pick out of Ohio State is that head coach Frank Reich and offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni will be able to use Campbell in the slot and on the outside. "It's exciting because I'm kind of out of that hybrid role that I was in at Ohio State," Campbell said. "So, just being able to show (my) skill set is a huge opportunity for me. I think the question coming out was can he run routes? Since I'd never done it, everyone just kind of put a no on it. But I'm not going to lie to you: That's something that I needed to work on because I didn't have experience. That was kind of my main focus throughout the whole (pre-draft) process." Being able to line Campbell, who had 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns during his senior season at Ohio State, up in multiple spots will be huge for the Colts considering they also have T.Y. Hilton, new addition Devin Funchess and the use of tight end Eric Ebron as a hybrid receiver.
