With the offseason program on the horizon, most, if not all, of the Giants coaching staff has had at least the first dose of the Covid vaccine with the second to come in the next week or so. As for players, starting next week vaccines will be made available in conjunction with Hackensack Meridian Health Center to all staff and players.

Hour 3: Leap Year

Which QB is going to make a Josh Allen-like leap this year? Former OSU QB Cardale Jones stops by to explain why Justin Fields falling in the draft doesn't make sense. Plus, Take Your Pick!

The Giants waived cornerback Ryan Lewis. He was part of that revolving door at CB2 last year for the Giants. Started three games before landing on injured reserve. Of course, the Giants now have Adoree Jackson slotted into that starting CB role opposite James Bradberry.

Giants make three new coaching hires official: Russ Callaway is an offensive quality control coach, Ryan Anderson and Carter Blount defensive quality control coaches. Callaway comes from LSU. He was a senior offensive assistant. Anderson was the safeties coach at Elon. Blunt was last at Tennessee, where he was the special teams quality control analyst.

Also of note from John Mara: "Not in any hurry" on Saquon Barkley contract extension. Fully confident he returns to old form but no need to act now. Giants have "more confidence" in Dave Gettleman heading into this season given the roster and where team is headed.

John Mara: "Time for us to start winning some more. That is why we spent the money we did [in free agency]." Added 3 huge signings wasn't necessarily the plan, but you have to "seize the opportunities" when they present themselves. He's tired of standing up there at the end of each season trying to explain why they're headed in right direction. Looking forward to turning it around this year.

The Giants signed DBs Joshua Kalu and Chris Milton and TE Cole Hikutini. Kalu and Milton come from the Titans. Hikutini was most recently with the Cowboys.

Catching up on some Giants moves: Re-signed LB Devonte Downs. Started eight games for them last year. Signed OL Zach Fulton, formerly of the Texans. Starting 16 games at guard last season.

TE Kyle Rudolph described the last 24 hours as "interesting." Never a doubt he wouldn't sign with Giants after they determined his foot needs surgery. Rudolph will undergo the procedure this month and will not miss any football (ie back for training camp). Also said he had 12-13 options as a free agent!

What are the Giants getting from Adoree Jackson? "A team player," he says. Going to be compatible with players and coaches. As for last season, he described it as a little bit of adversity, first time in his career he's really faced some. His decision to sign with Giants was helped by being comfortable with coach Joe Judge. Thought he was "straight forward" and "straight up."
