J-Will joins the show in the 4th hour to react to the Heat beating the Celtics to get to the Finals and look ahead to the Lakers/Heat matchup. The 49ers have ruled TE Jordan Reed out for the second half with left ankle and knee issues. Reed had two catches for 23 yards on six targets in the first half but injured his left leg trying to drag his feet for a touchdown in the back of the end zone. Ross Dwelley and rookie Charlie Woerner are the only healthy tight ends remaining for the Niners.

Even with so many key players out because of injury, the 49ers really controlled the first half against the Giants, taking a 16-6 lead going into the locker room. The Niners had the ball for 22 minutes, 26 seconds and ran 43 plays but settled for four field goal tries, one of which they missed. If they can finish a couple more drives with touchdowns instead of kicks, they should be able to escape with a win and go to 2-1 on the season heading home for three straight game at Levi's Stadium.

With CB Ahkello Witherspoon inactive because of a hamstring injury, Jason Verrett will be active for the first time this season. He is one of two options to start in Witherspoon's place opposite Emmanuel Moseley. Verrett had a strong camp before his own hamstring injury, so he would be the favorite to start. Dontae Johnson is the other option.
