The Saints announced that they won't have any fans in the Superdome for their Week 1 opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — meaning you'll have to watch Drew Brees vs. Tom Brady on TV. The Saints added that it's "unlikely" they will host fans in Week 3 against the Packers, though they will be prepared if anything changes as they continue to work with government and health officials.

When the Bucs hired Jacqueline Davidson as their new director of football research, I talked to GM Jason Licht about the possibility of not having college football this year. They felt like they needed to find more creative ways of identifying draft talent for that very reason. She'll have her hand in a lot of different departments, but this is a key way she can leave her mark.

ESPN Daily: Tom Brady adjusts to Tampa

As the NFL regular season looms, QB Tom Brady is adjusting to his new role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pocket. Different playbooks, unfamiliar facilities, and a new climate all present challenges to the veteran QB. Meanwhile, his Buccaneer teammates are adjusting to a new play caller under center. ESPN's Jenna Laine brings us her reporting on how Brady is getting used to working in Tampa with a new team. Then, 18-year NFL veteran QB Josh McCown explains how difficult it is to learn a new playbook - considering McCown has learned 16 different ones over the course of his long football career.

Source tells me that the Bucs have activated rookie running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, which means the Bucs have no more players on this list. I'm also told that the Bucs have re-signed Jaydon Mickens, who was waived last month. Their roster stands at 80 currently.

The Browns have claimed former Bucs cornerback and 2018 second-round pick MJ Stewart, who was waived yesterday. Two years ago, the Bucs sorely lacked depth at the position. But they managed to find starters in Carlton Davis, Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean; they've gotten a lot of special teams help from Ryan Smith and they've seen promise in Mazzi Wilkins.

Hour 1: Trailblazer Takeover?

Peter Burns in for Jason Fitz. Are the Portland Trailblazers legit threats to the LA Lakers? Plus, the SEC Network's Chris Doering on college players opting out, and ESPN NFL Insider Jeff Darlington on why the Bucs are the most fascinating story leading into this NFL season.

Brady: Terminology in new playbook a challenge

After spending his entire career with the Patriots, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said Thursday that he forgot the challenges that come with learning a new playbook, as he's doing in Tampa Bay.

In addition to M.J. Stewart being waived today, the Bucs activated Raymond Calais and Aca'Cedric Ware from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Ware was then waived. That leaves one player still on the Bucs' Reserve/COVID-19 list: Ke'Shawn Vaughn.

Source tells me that the Bucs are cutting cornerback M.J. Stewart. He was a second-round draft pick by the Bucs in 2018. The Bucs tried him at outside cornerback, nickelback and safety, but he wasn't able to stick at any of those positions. They have a lot more DB depth now than they did previously as well.
