WRs will hold key to offense

As another NFL season approaches, Scouts Inc. breaks down every roster and offers position-by-position breakdowns.

The Seahawks must have more consistency from the quarterback position in order to take the next step in 2005. Matt Hasselbeck was overwhelmed early on last season, before catching a rhythm a few games into the season when head coach Mike Holmgren simplified some things.

However, a rash of injuries (rips, leg, elbow) wound up nagging him down the stretch. Hasselbeck needs to be more patient and take what the defense gives him more consistently, but he generally locates the open man, is accurate and has adequate mobility. Hasselbeck can be a very good starter but needs to stay healthy and make more progress from a savvy standpoint in 2005.
