Overall: Castillo, who was raised in the Dominican Republic, was a contributor at defensive tackle/nose tackle for Northwestern from his true freshman season in 2001 through his senior season in 2004. He became a fulltime starter as a sophomore in 2002, started all 13 games as a junior in 2003, and started 31-consecutive games to finish his collegiate career. As a junior, Castillo had 70 total tackles, 6.5 for loss and 2.5 sacks. As a senior in 2004, Castillo ranked fourth on the Wildcats' tackle list with 75 (first among all NU defensive linemen) and added a team-best 8.5 tackles for loss despite playing through an elbow injury that affected him in all but two games.
