Vancouver power outage

Canucks GM Dave Nonis made some nice moves at the trade deadline. He picked up a trio of veteran defensemen -- Keith Carney, Eric Weinrich and Sean Brown -- and promising goalie Mika Noronen. The deals didn't cost too much and filled some holes caused by injury.

Those moves, however, won't mean very much if Nonis' big line doesn't rediscover its game.

In seasons past, the line of C Brendan Morrison, LW Markus Naslund and RW Todd Bertuzzi terrorized opposing goalies with a combination of skill, speed and finesse. Entering this season, with a new standard of enforcement on obstruction in the league, most felt the trio would be unstoppable.
