It didn't take long for Daniel Briere and Chris Drury to have an impact on their new teams, did it? Both of the former Sabres scored game-winning goals in their respective debuts. In Calgary, the Flyers blew a 2-0 lead and appeared to be headed to overtime. Then, with just 1:48 left in regulation, Briere converted a breakaway chance, beating Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff over the glove side to give the Flyers an opening-night win. It was Briere's second goal of the game. In fact, he and his linemates (Simon Gagne and Mike Knuble) were involved in all three Philly goals.
