Chris Pronger heads NHL's D-men

September, 29, 2010

I know you love lists. At least, that's what people tell me. With the new season on the horizon, I figured it would be a good time to put together a short list. Because I feel a team's success or failure depends on how good its defensemen are. With the unveiling of the league's top 10 goal scorers today from Puck Prospectus, here's my look at the top 10 defensemen in the NHL.

After you peruse my list, feel free to shoot me a note with your own top 10 defensemen. I'm curious to see where we agree and where we don't.

1. Chris Pronger, Philadelphia Flyers
Somehow, I think this guy is underrated. He has helped three teams to the Cup final since the lockout. Take a minute to think about that. Pronger is skilled, smart and nasty. The bigger the game, the better he plays.
