On Thursdays, I do a mailbag. You can ask me questions by clicking here or by Twitter.

From Rocky B in Venice Beach, CA: What happened to my guy Drew Doughty last night? Is he okay?
Doughty suffered what the Los Angeles Kings are calling an "upper body" injury in the first period of Wednesday night's win over the Carolina Hurricanes. There is a rumor circulating that he suffered a concussion. At the time that I'm tapping this out, I could not confirm that.

Kings head coach Terry Murray told reporters after the game that Doughty would not accompany the club to Phoenix for the start of a five-game road trip against the Coyotes tonight. Murray did say Doughty could join the club on the road at some point during the trip.

The injury appeared to occur when he was hit by Carolina forward Erik Cole. Watching the replay, the hit was late. Doughty had already released the puck. In fact, the Canes had the puck and the play was going in the other direction when Cole made contact with Doughty. The league no doubt will review the video. I don't know if there's enough evidence for a suspension, but the play looked similar to the one that resulted in a three-game ban to Shane Doan. Stay tuned.
