Why the Capitals will beat the Rangers

November, 9, 2010

I just want to thank Raffi Torres. Last Tuesday, the Vancouver forward rolled a late backhand past Edmonton goalie Nikolai Khabibulin that lifted the Canucks to a 4-3 win over the Oilers. The goal completed a rare hat trick for Torres.

Now, why was that important to me, you ask? Because I had a perfect week -- my first since I started making these picks last season -- hanging in the balance.

I was so excited; I celebrated by going to Disney World … literally. To be honest, the trip was already planned. Oddly enough, Mickey and Minnie didn't ask for an advance on this week's picks. Maybe the mousy couple should have. After all, I'm 9-1 in the past two weeks.

All this success means only one thing: The fall is coming. And I suspect it's going to be a big fall. There are seven games tonight. Here are the selections.
