The New York Islanders made one of the biggest signings of the offseason, but Andrew Ladd's seven-year, $38.5 million contract came with a bittersweet feeling for Isles fans. Acquiring Ladd meant losing popular forward Kyle Okposo in free agency, and brought along concerns about the winger's long-term projection.

What did the decision to sign Ladd mean for the long- and short-term plans for the Islanders? Should the offseason be considered a success?
