Coach K's effect on NBA talent

Team USA is the heavy favorite at the London Games, and its strong play over the past two weeks has done nothing to dispel that thought. It seems bound to repeat its 2008 gold-medal-winning performance. Whitewashing Spain in Barcelona this week confirmed what most suspected: Although missing some valuable pieces, Team USA is by far the best team in the world with some of the best players in the world.

However, with all due respect to the players as well as the team's construction process, it is head coach Mike Krzyzewski who serves as the lifeblood of the team, just as he has done for championship squads at the college level. But what sets Krzyzewski apart from previous Team USA coaches? After all, the results are similar. And would his coaching tactics work well in the NBA? Players follow Krzyzewski as head coach of Team USA, but would they follow him as an NBA head coach?
