I've been doing a little number crunching and analysis of Bassmaster Classics past in an effort to learn whatever that might teach me. Specifically, I wanted to know what previous Classic experience on Classic waters might be worth to an angler. It turns out that it's very valuable.
As you know, the Classic is going back to Lay Lake in 2010, where it was also contested in 1996, 2002 and 2007.
For what it's worth, of the 51 competitors slated to fish in 2010, only five (Tommy Biffle, Denny Brauer, Alton Jones, Gary Klein and Kevin VanDam) fished the 1996 Classic there. VanDam finished sixth that year. The rest were between 28th and 34th.
