There's a BASS member in Louisiana who has the determination of a bulldog. Willard T. Booty is now in his 70s and wants desperately to be acknowledged as the oldest angler ever to win a BASS event.
When we (and usually this means me because I'm generally the guy who compiles and keeps track of the BASS records) reference the oldest angler ever to win a BASS event, we show it as Shorty Evans, who was 65 years, 4 months and 8 days old when he won the Kentucky Invitational in 1978.
Mr. Booty was just a little older when he won.
