2015/2016 Italian Serie A

Relegation-threatened Carpi dig deep to earn goalless draw at Torino

Carpi ground out a goalless draw at Torino to keep alive their bid to survive in Serie A.
The promoted side are now only five points from safety and can take heart from an encouraging defensive display at the Stadio Olimpico.
In the first half Andrea Belotti was twice denied by Carpi goalkeeper Vid Belec and, just before the hour mark, the Slovenian repelled Torino's Italy striker when he attempted to score with a cross-cum-shot.
Ciro Immobile might have won it for the hosts in the 84th minute but the on-loan Borussia Dortmund man fluffed his lines from close range.
