Macclesfield extended their lead at the top of the National League to four points with a 2-1 victory at 10-man Aldershot.
The Shots' hopes of leapfrogging Town to the summit were damaged in the fifth minute when last man Will Evans was sent off for bringing down Nathan Blissett.
Danny Whitaker scored from the resulting penalty and Blissett added a second in the 48th minute, scrambling home after Elliott Durrell had gone round the goalkeeper.
Aldershot grabbed a lifeline in the 62nd minute, Scott Rendell scoring from the spot following a handball, but could not find an equaliser as they slipped to third.
