Memo Rodriguez scored on a free kick in the 41st minute and Marko Maric finished with three saves for the Dynamo, who saw their six-match unbeaten streak (3-0-3) come to a halt.

FC Dallas' Michael Barrios flicked the ball into the box to set up Jara, who deftly tapped it past Maric to give his side a 2-1 lead in the 61st minute. Jara's second goal of the season tied him with Zdenek Ondrasek and Ricardo Pepi for the team lead for FC Dallas, which entered play on Saturday even with Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the fewest tallies in the Western Conference.

FC Dallas got the early jump after Houston's Darwin Ceren received a yellow card following a bad foul.

A pair of failed clearing attempts did in the Dynamo in the 28th minute as Ricaurte unleashed a left-footed shot from outside the box that sailed into the bottom right corner of the net. Ricaurte was appearing in his second MLS game after signing with FC Dallas following a stint with Colombia's Deportivo Independiente Medellin.

Houston answered in the 41st minute after Rodriguez converted a free kick into the top right corner to forge a tie. Rodriguez's goal was his third this season and 13th of his career, which ties Boniek Garcia for 12th place on the club's all-time scoring list.

The Lone Star State teams were fit to be tied in the previous encounter of the Texas Derby. They played to a scoreless draw on Aug. 21 at BBVA Stadium in Houston.
