Players who could transfer this summer: Pogba, Werner, Sancho and more

Why Werner fits Liverpool better than Dembele (0:54)

Alejandro Moreno explains why Liverpool should set their sights on Timo Werner over Ousmane Dembele this summer. (0:54)

The transfer window, much like the rest of the world, is in an uncertain place after the coronavirus outbreak saw soccer leagues indefinitely postpone games across the globe.

With their contracts expiring, there are a host of top stars who will be available on a free transfer once the game restarts -- whether that is on July 1 as normal, or pushed back to a later date to allow the leagues to finish -- but we've left a list of those players for a different story.

So which major players could be the priority for Europe's best clubs when business resumes? Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane have all been linked with mega-money transfers but, with the financial crisis knocking billions off player values in football, we'll stick to those more likely to move.

PAUL POGBA
Position: Midfielder
Team: Manchester United
Value: €80-100m

This one could get ugly. United have signed his replacement, Bruno Fernandes, already and Pogba clearly wants out. Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he wants the Frenchman, so expect a bid to happen as soon as it can, though Juventus will be making their case to bring him back to Turin too. Even before the coronavirus outbreak, United weren't going to get the €150m they want for Pogba, but he surely won't be at Old Trafford much longer.

JADON SANCHO
Position: Forward
Team: Borussia Dortmund
Value: €100-120m

Sancho left Man City in 2017 for a measly sum of €10m to get first-team football in Germany -- and boy, did it pay off. Now one of the most exciting attackers in the game, the 19-year-old can have his pick of clubs if they meet Dortmund's asking price of €120m. Man United are leading the chase, though with Erling Haaland scoring for fun since his January arrival at Dortmund and the lack of finances across Europe, perhaps Sancho staying put for another year isn't completely out of the question.

Gabriel to Chelsea 'would work for everyone'

Julien Laurens explains how Chelsea have targeted Lille defender Gabriel to strengthen their back line.

TIMO WERNER
Position: Striker
Team: RB Leipzig
Value: €50-60m

The Germany striker only recently signed a new contract at Leipzig, but with a reported €60m release clause included until April, the big clubs will circle. It's impossible to find a young striker of Werner's quality for that price, so he will have options: however, many of them will want him to play backup to an already established striker like Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) or Robert Lewandowski (Bayern). Sources have told ESPN that Liverpool are favourites for his signature.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG
Position: Striker
Team: Arsenal
Value: €40-50m

Aubameyang is entering the final year of his contract this summer and at 30 years old, he'll be eyeing a move to a club where he can win a trophy before he retires. Barcelona are interested as they look to replace Luis Suarez, but have plans to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan as their first-choice. Barca will only make one big signing, with Neymar also linked, so if it doesn't work out then expect them to move for Aubameyang. Though with finances as they are at Arsenal, the Gunners may choose to keep their captain for another year regardless of whether he signs a new deal or not.

DAYOT UPAMECANO
Position: Defender
Team: RB Leipzig
Value: €45-60m

One of the most highly regarded defensive prospects in Europe, the 21-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga and could be the latest Frenchman to land at Arsenal if the Gunners are willing to stump up to pay his reported €60m release clause. If they aren't, there will be plenty of other suitors and Man City could see him as the perfect player to strengthen their defence.

Teams linked: Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Tottenham, AC Milan, Real Madrid.

KALIDOU KOULIBALY
Position: Defender
Team: Napoli
Value: €70-90m

One of the best centre-backs in the world, it's easy to see why clubs are circling for Koulibaly's signature. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already said he won't let the Senegal defender go without a massive offer, but although there will be plenty of clubs looking to strengthen in that position, in this climate he won't get the €150m release clause he desires and will have to settle for less.

KAI HAVERTZ
Position: Midfielder
Team: Bayer Leverkusen
Value: €70-100m

The "new Mesut Ozil" won't stay at Leverkusen much longer. At only 20, Havertz has the world at his feet and it's most likely that he'll head to Bayern or Barcelona, though he would fit perfectly at Liverpool too given his versatility and vision in the No. 10 role. Bayern are reportedly his favoured choice, though they are only able to land one of Havertz, Man City's Leroy Sane and Leipzig striker Timo Werner. Indeed, the club's ex-president Uli Hoeness recently said "transfer fees in excess of €100m will be a thing of the past for the next few years" because of the impact of COVID-19.

JUDE BELLINGHAM
Position: Midfielder
Team: Birmingham
Value: €25-35m

The 16-year-old was on the verge of a move to Dortmund before sources told ESPN that Man United got involved, but he's yet to make up his mind. He has already shown he has the talent to compete in the Championship at such a young age, but making the step up to one of Europe's top clubs will be tough.

Teams linked: Borussia Dortmund, Man United.

GABRIEL MAGALHAES
Position: Defender
Team: Lille
Value: €30-35m

Sources have told ESPN that Chelsea started the race for the Brazilian defender out of the Premier League interest, but that Everton are now in charge. Gabriel has impressed in Ligue 1 this season and, at 22, has all the attributes needed to succeed at the highest level. The left-sided centre-back is as composed as they come and has shown he can act as a deep-lying playmaker for Lille to showcase his range of passing.

Teams linked: Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Juventus, Milan, Real Madrid, Dortmund.

DONNY VAN DE BEEK
Position: Midfielder
Team: Ajax
Value: €45-55m

When Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong moved on from Ajax in the summer, everyone assumed that Van de Beek would be next. A skilful attacking midfielder, the 22-year-old has plenty of suitors but has reportedly already agreed to a €55m summer move to Real Madrid. The player himself says nothing is decided yet, so there may be a chance for another club to swoop.
