Highlands Park have confirmed the departure of Gordon Igesund as head coach.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor took the job in October, but could only manage two victories as the club sit rooted at the foot of the table.

The 2-0 defeat to Bidvest Wits on Friday night proved the final straw, with club director Sinky Mnisi confirming Igesund's departure to TimesLive.

"Look, from the team's point of view, I am confirming that we have parted ways with Gordon. The board of directors took a decision on Saturday after realising that desired results are not coming.

"It seems that players are not responding to his methods - hence we are not getting positive results."

Les Grobler will take charge of the club in the interim.
