Minors: Sox's Hudson to be called up soon

July, 8, 2010
Sometimes I talk about a prospect being on the "fast track," and let's just say that a pitcher advancing through and recording a win at five different levels in a single season qualifies for that label. That's what Chicago White Sox starter Daniel Hudson did last season, and all indications point to him returning to the big leagues this weekend to replace Jake Peavy in the rotation.

Hudson started last year pitching in the Sally League and made stops at each level while moving up the ladder, culminating with a six-game stint with the big league club at the end of the season. He lost out to Freddy Garcia for the fifth starter's job this spring training, and has been waiting for an opportunity.
