Bedoya could be World Cup surprise

March, 26, 2010

About three months ago, Alejandro Bedoya's chances of making the U.S. team's 23-man World Cup roster looked slimmer than Victoria Beckham's legs. After all, the 22-year-old from Miami had never even been capped, and he was prepping for his very first national team camp. Like the overwhelming majority of the group that coach Bob Bradley assembled in Carson, Calif., in January, he was there mainly because his club team was between seasons, and not because he had a realistic chance of earning a ticket to South Africa.
