Three scenarios after Three Lions

June, 11, 2010

Yes, Saturday's U.S.-England clash is the game to end all games. According to us.

But the U.S. national team doesn't see things the same way. We could quote Landon Donovan or Tim Howard or Carlos Bocanegra or various and sundry Bradleys on the fact that the first round is three games, and that the World Cup won't end if the Yanks lose to England. We won't, because we're tired of hearing it.

The fact is, though, the boring U.S. rhetoric is right. The Americans' World Cup will continue, even if England skewers them in Rustenburg. "How?" you ask.
