Agudelo raves about Liverpool experience

December, 14, 2011

After spending most of the past month training with European powers Stuttgart and Liverpool, Juan Agudelo headed back home to New Jersey on Sunday. The next day, your favorite blog caught up with the U.S. forward, who's expected to join Jurgen Klinsmann's senior national team for games against Panama and Venezuela next month, and Caleb Porter's U-23 squad after that.

"I was extremely happy with the whole trip," Agudelo told us, although it's clear that the time spent in England made a bigger impression on the New York Red Bulls striker, who turned 19 last month.

"[Luis] Suarez really stood out, and the two center backs, [Martin] Skrtel and [Daniel] Agger, were unbelievable with their speed and strength," he says. "It was hard to get around them."

Still, Agudelo didn't embarrass himself -- quite the opposite, in fact.
