Here is a look at some of the top NFL rumors for Sunday, July 12:

  • Tim Tebow currently sits fourth on the Philadelphia Eagles QB depth chart -- behind Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley -- and appears to be long shot to make the Week 1 roster. In fact, Sports Insights recently pegged the odds of Tebow making the final cut at 31.25 percent. However, Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com thinks the odds are higher. "Giving Tebow a 31% chance of making the roster seems low, considering he is competing against a player in Matt Barkley that the team tried to trade this offseason," he wrote.

  • Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is backed up by Dan Orlovsky and Kellen Moore. Who will end up in the No. 2 spot as the top backup when the season begins? "Well, if the early portions of the offseason program were indicative of anything, Moore will be given a legitimate opportunity to pass his veteran counterpart on the depth chart," wrote Justin Rogers of MLive.com. "That said, Orlovsky still holds the edge coming into camp. The coaching staff is more familiar and comfortable with the veteran who holds the extensive advantage in experience."

  • Brian Quick still is recovering from shoulder surgery, but it appears that the St. Louis Rams may have their top receiver on the field for Week 1. "Brian Quick made progress during organized team activities and was able to do some individual work throughout the spring sessions," wrote ESPN Rams reporter Nick Wagoner. "The hope is that he'll be able to start doing some team drills sooner than later in camp, but we'll see how he is when he gets back with the team at the end of this month. I'd tend to think he's got a good shot to be ready to play Week 1 barring any setbacks, but again, we'll evaluate where he is when camp starts."
