Jeremy Tyler in; Chris Smith out

UPDATE: According to the New York Post, the Knicks will officially release Chris Smith on Tuesday and then fill the open roster spot by signing Jeremy Tyler.

Tyler's rest-of-season contract will likely be a multi-year deal to include 2014-15.

The New York Knicks are expected to sign center/forward Jeremy Tyler on Monday, but before that happens a roster spot needs to be opened up. All signs, according to ESPNNewYork.com, point to the team keeping center Cole Aldrich over Chris Smith. The Knicks do have injuries to both the positions and they feel keeping a big man is the wise move.
