DPE gives Cavs more flexibility

The Cleveland Cavaliers requested and were granted a Disabled Player Exception from the NBA since starting center Anderson Varejao was lost for the season after suffering a torn Achilles, reports ESPN.com's Marc Stein. The DPE is worth $4,852,273 and the Cavs have it available through Mar. 10 for a trade, free agent signing and waiver claim.
