ESPN.com has confirmed that ESPN 100 small forward Ishmail Wainright (Raytown, Mo./Montrose Christian) verbally committed to Baylor on Thursday night.

The 6-foot-6 Wainright cited the Bible in helping him reach his decision.

"Psalm 37:23: 'the steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord and he delighteth in his way'", Wainright told ESPN.com. "Also proverbs 3:5 and 6: 'Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.' He directed me."

Wainright chose the Bears over Ohio State, St. John's and Texas. He joins power forward Johnathan Motley (Houston/North Shore) in the Bears 2013 class.
