A new player has entered the recruiting sweepstakes for three-star defensive tackle Aaron Curry (Keller, Texas/Fossil Ridge) -- and the player may be the winner after this weekend.
Curry’s father, Aaron Sr., said TCU offered the 6-foot-2, 260-pound lineman Thursday night, and the Currys will take a trip to TCU for an official visit this weekend. Curry had narrowed his list to Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, but the offer from the Horned Frogs gives him something to seriously think about. Curry’s father said TCU head coach Gary Patterson visited the family Thursday and offered.
Missouri was believed to be a frontrunner in the race for Curry, but TCU definitely should be considered a power player. TCU has a growing history of producing NFL defensive lineman, and playing in the Big 12 next season has assisted in recruiting. Additionally, the TCU campus is located mere minutes away from his home.
Curry’s father said a decision could be made by the end of the weekend.
