Following a weekend official visit to Oklahoma State, Arkansas commit Keon Hatcher (Owasso, Okla.) wasn’t shy to say that the Razorbacks now have some serious competition in his recruitment.
Hatcher, a four-star wide receiver, described his trip to Stillwater, Okla., as “amazing” late Sunday afternoon. Hatcher has been committed to Arkansas since August, but he has had an interest in Oklahoma State for a while. When the Cowboys offered in November, they were thought to be immediate contenders in the Hatcher sweepstakes.
Hatcher’s made one trip to Stillwater already, as he was in attendance for Bedlam, Oklahoma State’s rival clash against Oklahoma. When Hatcher returned home Sunday after making the hour-plus drive from Owasso to Stillwater, he had nothing but positive things to say about the visit.
“I got a lot out of it [with] just the whole college-life deal. I can say I had a great time, and they opened my eyes. Arkansas has to bring it because OSU came with firepower.”
Hatcher, 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds with 4.4 speed, is being recruited to sign with Oklahoma State by receivers coach Kasey Dunn. He’s being recruited to sign with Arkansas by receivers coach Kris Cinkovich. Hatcher also had interest from Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tulsa.
With Justin Blackmon declaring for the NFL Draft, there is opportunity for young receivers to make an impact early next season. Hatcher is ranked No. 4 in the state of Oklahoma and No. 23 nationally among wide receivers.
