ESPN 300 defensive end Xavier Kelly has been on a cross-country tour that led him most recently to Notre Dame and Michigan State. The No. 164-ranked prospect participated in the Sound Mind Sound Body camp on Thursday and plans to continue his trip after the camp and check out Michigan over the weekend.
His visit to Notre Dame was much of what he expected, but he said it reinforced his feelings toward the Irish and the staff.
“The visit went great. They have a beautiful campus and they also have one of the highest graduation rates for their athletes,” he said. “You can have a long football career and still only be in your 30s afterward, so having a degree is important.”
