Five California prospects to know

No state produces more Pac-12 players than California, but the Golden State is consistently a hunting ground for programs in other conferences as well. Each of the past three years, at least two of the top five California prospects have signed with non-Pac-12 programs -- one to the ACC, two to the Big Ten and three to the SEC. The 2018 California class is another outstanding group that will send dozens of prospects to Power 5 programs. Here are five California recruits to know in this class.

WR Jalen Hall

Hall is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect and the No. 1 wide receiver in the country. All four California programs are heavily involved, but Hall will also look hard at LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma and other national programs will be factors. Two of Hall’s 2017 teammates -- No. 1 wide receiver Joseph Lewis and ESPN 300 athlete Greg Johnson -- signed with USC, so the Trojans would seem to have the early edge here. But Hall will take his time with the recruiting process and is open to leaving the area.
