#AskLoogs: Terps need a fence

Want to ask ESPN RecruitingNation senior analyst Tom Luginbill a question about your team? Tweet it to @TomLuginbill using the hashtag #AskLoogs.

Personally, I don’t think it has anything to do with how they enter the Big Ten.

In the Big Ten, ACC or any conference, it is far more about keeping the best area kids at home and prevent them from playing for competitors in the conference. Building depth and talent starts at home, and you then recruit outward. Put a fence around your area and cast a wide net across the eastern seaboard and Midwest.

Signing great players will enable Maryland to win more games, which immediately will make them a more attractive destination for local kids. Winning cures just about all woes. Guys such as CB Jalen Tabor, DE Jesse Aniebonam and OT Damian Prince would greatly enhance the Terps' ability to win and create relevancy over the long haul. This is one of the premier reasons why Mike Locksley was hired.
