Under Armour jersey tour: WR Josh Moore

Nebraska commitment Josh Moore was presented with an Under Armour All America jersey on Wednesday at Yoakum High (Yoakum, Texas).

“For one, it’s a great feeling,” said Moore. “I realize the opportunity. I’m the first person from my town to be an Under Armour All-America in any sport. It’s been a dream for me since I was a kid watching the game on TV.”

The No. 2-ranked prospect in the Lone Star State had a feeling he had the chance to accomplish the All-America goal when he was a freshman.

“I would say I realized the possibility my freshman year on varsity,” said Moore, No. 33 in the ESPN 300. “I never played a down of freshman or JV, I went straight to varsity, so it told me that I had a chance to do big things. I wasn’t just a starter on varsity as a freshman, I was making plays so it was different.”

Four questions with Josh Moore:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

[ESPN 300 DB] Asante Samuel Jr. I went up against him at The Opening. We had good battles, he’s competitive and I’m competitive, and I look forward to competing again.

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

[Brendan Radley-Hiles] for sure. The swagger he brings to the field -- he’s a vocal leader. He talks the talk and walks the walk. He’s a big competitor, and a guy I want to surround myself with.

What is your earliest football memory?

It was when I was 7 years old. The first play of the game the team kicked the ball to me and I scored. I scored, but I ran backwards to avoid getting tackled, almost got a safety, but got to the sideline and scored.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 1. I’ve been wearing it since I was 7 years old because I feel like I’m No. 1 when I step on the field.
