UPDATE: Coach Mike Tomlin had relatively good news regarding rookie RB Le'Veon Bell Thursday, according to ESPN Steelers reporter Scott Brown.
"Mike Tomlin says RB Le'Veon Bell has a mid-foot sprain but not a tear associated with a Lisfranc injury," Brown tweeted "Bell does not need surgery and Tomlin says team is encouraged by developments over the 'last 48 to 72 hours.' Tomlin would not say how long Bell will be out, only saying that he won't play Saturday against the Chiefs."

The best-case scenario for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell is that he rests his Lisfranc injury and gets back into game action in six to eight weeks. However, the Steelers have sent Bell's MRI scans to Charlotte, N.C.-based foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson for a final determination on whether the running back requires surgery. If surgery is needed, Bell could miss the entire season, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
