Minnesota vs. Iowa State

Gophers offense will do just enough versus a battered Cyclones defense.

Minnesota offense vs. Iowa State defense
• It's been a disappointing season for QB Adam Weber. While it's important to point out that he lost one of the best receivers in the country when Eric Decker went down with a season-ending foot injury, Weber also hasn't taken care of the football. One of the reasons he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns is because he tends to lock onto a receiver and it's important for him to do a better job of scanning the field in this game. Redshirt freshman backup MarQueis Gray should see some time and it's important for him to also go through his progressions. Iowa State's back seven reads opposing quarterbacks' eyes and plays the ball well. But while turnovers are a concern, Minnesota is capable of moving the ball though the air against a vulnerable Iowa State pass defense that will be without its best corner, Kennard Banks, who was suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
