TCU offense vs. Louisiana Tech defense
• Louisiana Tech has been stout against the run and is capable of slowing TCU's ground game. It starts up front, where 340-pound NT Justin Ellis is a space-eater who can occupy multiple blockers while LBs Adrian Cole and Jay Dudley locate and fly to the football. Even the defensive backs mix it up in run support and tackle well. And don't expect the Bulldogs to wear down, even though Horned Frogs RBs Ed Wesley, Matthew Tucker and Waymon James are all productive. That trio will split carries and keep one another fresh, but Tech defensive coordinator Tommy Spangler will counter by rotating defensive linemen in and out of the game. None of this will matter if the Bulldogs don't practice sound gap discipline, though. The Horned Frogs run plenty of misdirection and some option. They get their receivers involved in the run game and can also line up two backs in the backfield.
