Carroll, Leinart are big reasons why USC will threepeat

Three reasons USC will threepeat:

1. Quarterback Matt Leinart.
The Trojans lose offensive coordinator Norm Chow, quarterbacks coach Carl Smith and line coach Tim Davis to the NFL. If there's one player in the nation with the poise, experience and scheme knowledge to overcome those key coaching departures, it's Leinart. In search of his second Heisman Trophy and third national championship, Leinart made the decision to put off the NFL for one more year.

To achieve those rarest of college football goals, the southpaw must rebound from offseason elbow surgery quickly, as the offense will likely be asked to carry a defense that lost five key contributors from last year's group to the NFL. Calling more plays and making more presnap audibles at the line of scrimmage will be part of Leinart's increased responsibility as a senior.
