The college football coaching landscape is as diverse as the schemes these men employ each week to win. Old-school and new-school, composed and maniacal, there are coaches with all sorts of approaches and personalities who have proved to be successful at leading their teams to victory.
Out of all current college football head coaches, I find that there are three in particular who don't get the credit they deserve: Paul Johnson of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Mike Gundy of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Chris Petersen of the Boise State Broncos.
Each has a different reason for being underrated. For instance, Johnson doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his triple option offensive attack, which doesn't produce "Top Plays" for "SportsCenter" or NFL quarterbacks but instead creates top-tier ground games and has led to Johnson posting a career coaching record of 138-53.
