This week, Insider has reviewed college football's top quarterbacks, running games, receiving corps and defensive lines (see box at right). The final piece of the positional review puzzle will be a look at the 10 best secondaries in the country.
These rankings were compiled after a detailed review of game tape and metrics, with a strong ranking leaning given to those groups returning a high volume of quality starters. Talent (both individually and collectively), scheme and depth were among the factors considered.
Units from all over the country ended up making the cut, with the SEC and Big 12 placing three teams each on the list (with a Big 12 group landing our No. 1 spot).

1. Texas Longhorns
Returning secondary starters: 3
Top secondary players: Carrington Byndom, Quandre Diggs, Kenny Vaccaro
The Horns' secondary is so talented that it would not be a misnomer to call it close to NFL caliber.
