Analyzing U-M's recruiting strategy

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan coach Brady Hoke's recruiting philosophy is simple: The Wolverines need to draw top talent from their region (what he defines as within five hours driving distance of Ann Arbor), but they also need to snag top talent from around the nation to compete at the elite level.

Until this point, the Wolverines have been remarkably consistent with that recruiting plan.

By breaking down the numbers from Hoke's 2012 and 2013 classes (he didn't have a full recruiting cycle to recruit 2011, so those numbers aren't included in this study), there are a few important facts to glean.
